    Procurement Manager

    Job Purpose

    • To ensure that raw materials and other essential items are procured efficiently and delivered promptly, from the right source, in the correct quantity and quality, and at the most cost-effective price, supporting uninterrupted operations across all branches.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Source raw materials, consumables, and production inputs in a cost-effective and timely manner.
    • Monitor material requirements and usage patterns across multiple branches, ensuring alignment with weekly procurement planning.
    • Ensure on-time delivery and effective supplier performance in compliance with service-level agreements.
    • Liaise with suppliers to build strong relationships, resolve delivery issues, and ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Collaborate with internal departments, including operations and production, to determine procurement needs and timelines.
    • Monitor and analyze procurement cycle times to optimize the sourcing-to-delivery process.
    • Conduct regular market research and intelligence gathering to stay updated on material availability, price fluctuations, and alternative sources.
    • Work with Accounts and Treasury to ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
    • Provide guidance and supervision to junior procurement staff.
    • Escalate supply risks to management and recommend mitigative strategies.
    • Ensure zero stock-out situations through proactive planning, in collaboration with the inventory and warehouse teams.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and ethical standards in supplier dealings.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • B.Sc / HND qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or any related discipline.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the agricultural, food processing, or feed manufacturing sector.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, vendor management, and supply chain dynamics
    • Data-driven decision-making and analytical skills
    • Excellent negotiation and contract management capabilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and procurement tools
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple procurement cycles simultaneously
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
    • People management and leadership potential
    • Ethical, professional, and results-oriented.
