Processing Manager at Agbeyewa Farms

Job Description

• Plan, organize, and direct all daily activities of the cassava processing unit, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
• Oversee the processing of cassava into various products (e.g., garri, cassava flour, starch), ensuring processes are optimized for maximum yield and quality.
• Implement and monitor strict quality control and food safety protocols to ensure all products meet company, national (NAFDAC), and international standards.
• Supervise, train, and mentor processing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure all processing equipment (peelers, graters, fryers, dryers) is in excellent working condition, minimizing downtime and improving overall efficiency.
• Manage the inventory of raw cassava and finished products, and coordinate logistics to ensure timely distribution.
• Manage the unit's budget, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of proven experience in managing a food processing or manufacturing unit, with a strong preference for experience with cassava or similar crops.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and GMP.
• Strong technical skills with an understanding of processing machinery and equipment maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proactive and results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
