Job Description

• The Power Plant Operator will operate and maintain equipment used to generate electrical power.
• Operates power plant equipment and machinery to produce enough electrical power to meet demand; regulates flow of power between generating stations and substations.
• Uses software, tools, and other digital informational devices to operate and document information precisely.
• Monitors plants, meter and gauges and control board to verify operational parameters and electricity flow to meet standard protocol.
• Inspects generators and other equipment; makes necessary repairs or modifications.
• Maintain and draft document relating to equipment, data, and general operating instructions and schedules.
• Monitors machinery indicators to identify any existing malfunctions and initiate repair procedure when necessary.
• Adhere to safety protocol and policy to ensure proper use of equipment.
• Clean, lubricates, maintain parts and equipment to prevent failure and degradation.
• Maintain, supervise and regulate transmission load, frequencies and line voltages.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• 2-3 years working as a Plant Operator.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to maintain logs and reports
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
