Role Description

• The Portfolio Manager role at Lotus Capital Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos.
• The Portfolio Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of Shariah-compliant portfolios and mutual funds, including asset allocation, security selection, and risk monitoring. Responsibilities include conducting fundamental and quantitative research on markets and securities, developing and implementing investment strategies, and executing trades in line with investment guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• The role involves monitoring portfolio performance against benchmarks, preparing periodic performance reports, and presenting insights to internal stakeholders and clients.
• The Portfolio Manager will collaborate closely with research, risk, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to Shariah principles and internal risk frameworks, while also supporting new product development and client relationship management activities.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, assess risk, and make evidence-based investment decisions.
• Solid grounding in finance and investments, including understanding of capital markets, asset classes, and portfolio construction.
• Demonstrated experience in portfolio management, with exposure to fund management, asset allocation, and performance attribution.
• Practical knowledge of trading and execution, including order management, market liquidity, and compliance with trading regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; advanced qualifications such as CFA, CIS, or MBA are an advantage.
• Familiarity or experience with Islamic Finance and Shariah-compliant investment principles is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with financial modeling and portfolio management tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg or similar platforms).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex investment ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
