The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, be experienced in managing plumbing teams, and possess in-depth knowledge of plumbing systems suitable for challenging environments. The Plumbing Supervisor will ensure that all plumbing work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations and project specifications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise Plumbing Team: Lead and supervise a team of plumbers, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Provide technical guidance and support on plumbing work, ensuring quality standards are met.
    • Installation and Maintenance: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing components, ensuring compliance with construction plans and specifications.
    • Safety Management: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, particularly in wet or unstable environments. Monitor the team’s use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper handling of tools, and safe installation of plumbing systems in waterlogged or swampy environments.
    • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of plumbing work to ensure all installations meet the required standards, codes, and regulations. Ensure proper functioning and quality of plumbing systems, including water supply and waste systems.
    • Material Selection: Ensure that plumbing materials used are appropriate for wetland, swamp, or waterlogged environments. Supervise the selection of corrosion-resistant pipes, fittings, and waterproof materials for plumbing installations.
    • Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with other construction departments, including electricians, engineers, and project managers, to coordinate plumbing installations and ensure smooth progress of the overall project.
    • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues that arise on-site, such as leaks, blockages, or installation issues, while working within the constraints of challenging environmental conditions.
    • Project Documentation: Maintain detailed records of plumbing work completed, including any changes to the original plans, materials used, and work completed. Provide regular updates to senior management on progress, quality, and safety.
    • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to plumbing systems, such as water damage, drainage issues, or contamination. Take appropriate actions to mitigate these risks and ensure plumbing systems function properly in challenging environments.
    • Training and Development: Train new plumbing team members and provide ongoing support to ensure they are following the best plumbing practices, safety standards, and adhering to environmental requirements for working in waterlogged or swampy conditions.
    • Inspection and Testing: Ensure proper testing of plumbing systems, including water pressure tests, leak detection, and drainage checks, ensuring all systems are fully functional and meet safety standards.
    • Environmental Compliance: Ensure plumbing systems meet environmental regulations, especially in wetland and swampy areas, and are designed to protect against contamination or waterlogging issues.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plumbing, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory role, overseeing plumbing teams on construction sites, particularly in swampywaterlogged, or marine environments.
    • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, pipework, fixtures, and materials. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents related to plumbing systems.
    • Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including plumbing-specific safety measures in challenging environments. Certification in OSHANEBOSH, or similar construction safety standards is preferred.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve plumbing issues on-site, including troubleshooting water systems, managing leaks, and dealing with system failures under difficult environmental conditions.
    • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and guide a team of plumbers effectively, ensuring they meet deadlines and quality standards.
    • Environmental Awareness: Understanding of the unique challenges plumbing systems face in wetlandswampy, or waterlogged environments, and experience with designing or installing systems that mitigate these challenges.
    • Education and Certification:
    • Certification in Plumbing or Pipefitting (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
    • NEBOSH or other relevant safety certifications is an advantage.
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in plumbing systems or construction management is beneficial.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in Wetland or Marine Projects: Prior experience in plumbing systems for swampywaterlogged, or marine environments, with a focus on systems resistant to water damage and environmental wear.
    • Corrosion Protection Knowledge: Experience with materials and techniques for corrosion protection and waterproofing of plumbing systems exposed to moisture and flooding.
    • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage resources, schedules, and budgets while maintaining plumbing work quality and meeting project deadlines.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions, including swampywaterlogged, or marine environments.
