Plant Operator at Sellafield Energy

About the Role:

• The Plant Operator is an extension of the Panel Operator. This position monitors and adjusts the equipment in the process unit as directed by the Panel Operator.

Major Areas of Responsibility: 

• The Plant Operator is responsible for sampling and testing samples and reporting results to the Panel Operator.
• Operate processing equipment and log equipment checks to follow standard operating procedures and optimizing plant efficiencies.
• Support smooth refinery plant running by coordinating with plant management.
• Regulate valves, compressors, pumps and auxiliary equipment to direct product flow. 
• Analyze specifications and control petroleum refining and processing unit operations to produce fuel through distillation, absorption, extraction and catalytic cracking. 
• Inspect and adjust damper controls, heaters and furnaces. 
• Visit unit to verify efficient operating conditions. 
• Test liquids and gases for chemical characteristics and color.

Requirements:

• Minimum OND Chemical/Petroleum/Petrochemical or its equivalent is required. 
• Three years. 
• Prior working experience in Oil & Gas processing plant preferred. 
• Demonstrates a designated level of technical skill and knowledge in process/plant operations. 
• Keeps up with current developments and trends in Refinery operations.
• Applies considerable knowledge of operations, procedures, and safety precautions of the Unit.
