Position Overview

• The Physiotherapist Assistant will work closely with licensed physiotherapists to assist in the implementation of rehabilitation programs and provide essential support to patients undergoing physical therapy.
• This role is crucial in facilitating the overall well-being and progress of individuals receiving physiotherapy services.

Responsibilities
Patient Support:

• Assist in preparing treatment areas and equipment for physiotherapy sessions.
• Guide and assist patients in performing prescribed exercises and activities.
• Monitor and report patient responses and progress to the supervising physiotherapist.

Treatment Implementation:

• Administer prescribed modalities and assist with therapeutic exercises under the direction of the physiotherapist.
• Instruct patients in the correct use of assistive devices and mobility aids.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including treatment activities and patient responses.
• Assist in preparing progress reports and other documentation as required.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with the physiotherapy team to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of physiotherapy equipment.
• Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification as a Physiotherapist Assistant from an accredited program.
