Phlebotomist at Zenith Medical & Kidney Centre

• Zenith Medical and Kidney Center is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Medical Laboratory Scientist to ensure accurate collection, labeling, handling, and transportation of patient specimens while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients using appropriate venipuncture and capillary collection techniques.
• Properly label, process, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Work collaboratively with the Medical Laboratory Scientist to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing.
• Verify patient identity and maintain accurate patient records.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area and equipment.
• Provide reassurance and professional care to patients during specimen collection.
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of phlebotomy supplies and report shortages when necessary.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, quality standards, and ethical guidelines.
• Assist with other laboratory-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Diploma or Certificate in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related healthcare field.
• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist in a hospital, diagnostic center, or healthcare facility is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of specimen collection procedures and laboratory safety standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• High level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy and record-keeping skills.
