3. Inventory Management: Maintaining inventory levels of medications and supplies, monitoring expiration dates, and restocking shelves. This may involve ordering medications and supplies as needed.
4. Prescription Filling: Retrieving medications from the pharmacy's stock and preparing them for dispensing. This may include measuring and compounding medications or preparing unit-dose packaging.
5. Labeling and Packaging: Properly labeling medication containers with information such as dosage instructions, patient name, and auxiliary labels. Ensuring that medications are packaged securely and safely.
6. Prescription Billing and Insurance: Assisting in processing insurance claims and coordinating with insurance companies to ensure proper coverage for patients' medications.
7. Customer Service: Interacting with patients and healthcare providers in a professional and helpful manner. Answering phone calls, addressing inquiries, and providing information on prescription refills and medication availability.
8. Medication Safety and Compliance: Adhering to pharmacy regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and compliance with laws related to medication dispensing. This includes following proper storage and handling procedures for medications.
