The Pharmacy Technician is to assist the Pharmacists with dispensing medications, handling prescriptions and stock taking
Job Description
Responsible for the accurate dispensing and timely distribution of drugs and medicines including counting pills, measuring liquids, and labeling prescriptions.
Assist in stock taking, Procurement and storage of all drugs
Ensure that patients understand proper medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
Ensuring medication reaches the patient in the correct form, dose and on time
Responding to medication queries from within the hospital, other hospitals and the public
Maintain accurate records for all medications dispensed.Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and hospital policies regarding the handling and dispensing of medications.
Maintain stock of medications and ensure proper storage conditions.
Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure that medications are within their expiration dates.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to pharmacy practice.
Assist pharmacists with patient counseling, including providing medication instructions and answering patient questions.
Requirements
Diploma or certificate in pharmacy technology from an accredited program.
Registration/Certification from Pharmacy Technicians Board of Nigeria
