Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) Professorial Chair at University of Ibadan

Job Summary

• Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of PTDF Professorial Chair in Engineering for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

Responsibilities

• The selected candidate shall, in addition to research, teach relevant courses in Petroleum Engineering at undergraduate and graduate levels as well as carry out other academic duties as may be assigned by the University.
• The research area of the prospective candidate shall, among others, comprise Flow Assurance and Oilfield Production Chemistry Studies, Molecular Dynamic Models in Flow Assurance Studies, and Advanced Cleaner Fossil Fuels and Energy Studies.

Requirements
The eligible candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Should be a Professor in a reputable institution and also have cognate teaching, research, and consulting experience in the field of Petroleum Engineering.
• Should be self-motivated and possess the capacity to embrace team approach to solving problems and should have carried out verifiable research and parade high impact publications in relevant aspects of Petroleum Engineering.
• Should possess the capacity to initiate value-adding studies to the oil and gas industry, the academia, and the wider society.
• Should be in any areas of Reservoir Engineering, Production Engineering, and Drilling Engineering and must be a registered engineer.

Condition of Service

• As approved by the Board of Trustees, the appointment is for one (1) year in the first instance and renewable for another term of one (1) year.
• The holder will enjoy current level salary and allowances of a full Professor, to be paid by the University and an additional grant to support the activities of the holder (such as funding support for research, conferences, travels, technical and secretarial services, among others) under the auspices of Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) Professorial Chair.
