    Operations Manager (Multi-Asset Commodities)

    • We are seeking a dynamic, proven and highly versatile Operations Manager to oversee and strategically manage the complex operational landscape of our multi-asset Commodities trading and aggregation company. This critical role ensures the flawless, compliant, and efficient execution trading of Commodities which include: Solid Minerals, Agricultural products, Energy (Oil & Gas).

    Key Responsibilities

    • The Operations Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an effective business strategy to maximize profitability through] Commodities trading. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Identifying key commodities for profitable trading
    • Develop and maintain strong relationship with commodities stakeholders (commodity traders, storage facility owners, testing agents, processors etc)for purchase and aggregation of commodities and sales.
    • Aggregator Engagement: Act as the primary operational interface with Aggregators/ suppliers, coordinating delivery schedules, verifying volumes and quality upon receipt, and managing documentation flow for payment processing.
    • Develop and utilize effective pricing matrix for the valuation and pricing of incoming raw materials, ensuring that accepted volumes and grades are correctly applied to the agreed-upon pricing formular
    • Manage the creation and verification of all trade documents, including Bills of Lading (BLs), shipping manifests, quality certificates, customs declarations and commercial invoices.
    • Trade Finance: Work closely with the Finance Department to manage the operational aspects of trade finance instruments (e.g., Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees) ensuring timely presentation of documents to banks for drawing down funds.
    • Hedge Support: Coordinate with the trading desk to ensure operational activities are aligned with currency and commodity hedging strategies, providing accurate data on exposures and physical positions.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all physical movements, customs declarations, and documentation adhere to relevant domestic and international trade regulations.
    • Operational Risk: Implement protocols to minimize risks associated with theft, spoilage, quality degradation and delivery delays.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA/Masters) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, ACIB, CFA) is highly desirable.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in operations management within the financial services or capital markets sector, with demonstrated proficiency across multiple asset classes, especially linking physical commodity operations (delivery/vault) with financial settlement systems.
