We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer with a strong background in Instrumentation, Control Systems, and Engineering Design to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have Working knowledge of upstream Nigerian oil industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze project documents to establish technical requirements.
Identify risks and implement preventive measures to achieve critical project milestones.
Develop and configure PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems across various platforms.
Conduct site surveys, FAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance tests.
Prepare and manage preventive maintenance plans for instruments and control systems.
Provide instrumentation and control system support for process unit operations.
Design and implement metering systems in compliance with ISO, API, AGA, and NUPRC guidelines.
Perform engineering design reviews and instrument engineering simulations.
Lead project planning, scheduling, and control activities to ensure timely delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
5 – 10 years of proven experience in detailed engineering and design of instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas projects.
Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and best practices (ISA, NEC, NFPA, BS, API, IEC, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Emerson, Schneider, and Java applications — OEM training and certifications required.
Working knowledge of upstream Nigerian oil industry standards is preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
