    Offshore Orca Navigator

    Description

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating and piloting offshore vessels using state-of-the-art equipment to ensure optimal safety and efficiency.     Responsibilities

    • Navigate and pilot offshore vessels using Orca navigational software to ensure optimal safety and efficiency
    • Maintain a constant communication bridge with other vessels and offshore platforms
    • Monitor weather conditions, tide data and other pertinent information to ensure safe vessel operation
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of vessel movement, position, and fuel consumption
    • Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering or deck, to facilitate efficient vessel operations
    • Monitor compliance with applicable flag, port state, and international laws and regulations
    • Maintain and monitor navigational and safety equipment, ensuring proper operation at all times

    Requirements

    • Nigerian Nationality or possess a Nigerian Visa
    • Extensive experience in offshore vessel navigation, including the use of Orca software or similar programs
    • Valid Offshore certifications such as BOSIET/FOET, MLC Medical etc..
    • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English (verbal and written)
    • Ability to work long and irregular hours, with a willingness to work offshore for extended periods
    • Strong knowledge of relevant maritime laws and regulations, as well as flag and port state requirements
    • A proactive approach to safety, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment, and interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
