NYSC Social Media & Content Associate

    Role Summary

We are looking for a creative, digitally native social media & Content Associate to support content creation and social media management across Feed Avenue Ltd and Sahel Botanicals.

This is not simply a posting role. We need someone who is naturally curious, highly online, aware of trends and platform culture, and able to turn ideas into engaging content without needing every step mapped out for them.

The ideal candidate is a strong video editor and content creator who can think independently, contribute original ideas, work to deadlines, engage audiences and potential customers, and take ownership of their work from idea to execution.

    Qualification Requirement

    • BA/BSc/HND
    • Applicants must either have been deployed or be scheduled for deployment under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme in Nigeria at the time of application.
    • Must have at least 10 months remaining in their service year.

    Key Responsibilities

    Content Creation & Planning

    • Create a minimum of 4 video contents weekly across Feed Avenue and Sahel Botanicals.
    • Develop original content ideas and experiment with new formats, styles and approaches.
    • Edit short and long-form video content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
    • Support the creation of carousels and standalone graphics.
    • Write platform-appropriate captions and post copy.
    • Develop and maintain monthly content calendars.
    • Ensure balanced coverage of relevant products, sectors and brand priorities.
    • Review, understand and take ownership of all work before submission.

    Trends & Research

    • Keep up with social media, cultural and industry trends relevant to both brands.
    • Track developments within agriculture, animal nutrition, livestock, agribusiness and related industries.
    • Regularly bring new formats, references, editing styles and content opportunities to the team.

    Social Media & Community Management

    • Manage content across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube.
    • Schedule and publish approved content accurately and on time.
    • Monitor and respond promptly to comments, DMs, mentions and inquiries.
    • Identify and engage potential customers and social media leads.
    • Escalate qualified leads, complaints and technical inquiries appropriately.
    • Maintain the agreed brand voice across interactions.

    Reporting & Workflow

    • Track content and advertising performance and maintain records of inquiries and leads.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly social media reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Meet agreed deadlines and communicate early where a blocker may affect delivery.
    • Provide progress updates without needing repeated follow-up.
    • Record instructions and action points during meetings and follow through on them.
    • Apply feedback accurately and resubmit corrections within agreed timelines.

    Required Skills

    • Strong short-form and workable long-form video editing skills and practical experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of CapCut, including the desktop/PC version.
    • Good working knowledge of Canva and Meta Business Suite.
    • Graphic design skills with a good eye for layout, typography and visual hierarchy.
    • Strong understanding of Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube.
    • Experience creating social media content and content calendars.
    • Good social media copywriting, analytics and reporting skills.
    • Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.

The Kind of Person We Are Looking For

    Someone who is:

    • Creative and experimental, with an instinct for trying new things.
    • Digitally native and chronically online, noticing trends, memes, formats and shifts in platform culture.
    • Curious and resourceful, actively researching and bringing ideas rather than waiting for them.
    • Independent but collaborative, able to own a brief while contributing well within a team.
    • Accountable and organized, particularly with deadlines, communication and follow-through.
    • Open to feedback and able to apply it consistently.
    • Able to explain and defend their creative decisions and submitted work.

AI tools may be used to support the work, but should not replace independent thinking, brand understanding, quality control or ownership.

    Experience & Portfolio

    • Previous experience creating social media content, managing a brand page, freelancing or running a personal content platform is strongly preferred.
    • A portfolio showing both video editing and graphic design work is compulsory and must be submitted for consideration.
    • Formal communications qualifications are useful but are not more important than demonstrated creative ability, digital awareness, reliability and willingness to learn.
