Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician at Scruples Resources

• We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician to join our inspection and quality assurance team. The successful candidate will perform non-destructive examinations of materials, components, equipment, and systems to identify defects, verify integrity, and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NDT techniques, strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to accurately interpret and document inspection results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform NDT inspections using applicable methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT/DPT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Visual Testing (VT), and Thermal Imaging, as required.
• Inspect materials, components, welds, structures, and equipment for cracks, corrosion, discontinuities, flaws, and other irregularities.
• Set up, calibrate, operate, and maintain NDT equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and company procedures.
• Interpret, evaluate, and document test results accurately and identify indications that may affect product or equipment integrity.
• Apply relevant inspection criteria, specifications, codes, standards, and quality assurance procedures.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive inspection reports, including test methods, equipment used, results, findings, and recommendations where applicable.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of test results.
• Work closely with engineers, inspectors, quality assurance personnel, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to determine inspection requirements and resolve identified issues.
• Ensure all NDT activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, testing techniques, and overall quality performance.
• Ensure NDT equipment is properly stored, maintained, and kept within required calibration periods.
• Maintain professional and accurate communication with clients, supervisors, engineers, and project teams.
• Perform other inspection-related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Diploma, HND, BSc, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant NDT certification(s) appropriate to the methods being performed, such as ASNT, PCN, ISO 9712, or equivalent.
• Practical experience in one or more NDT methods, with experience in multiple methods highly desirable.
• Good understanding of applicable NDT standards, codes, specifications, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and reporting.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional ethics.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work on-site, travel to project locations, and work flexible hours where required.
