Description

• Maduka University is seeking a skilled and innovative Node.js Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services that support the university’s academic, administrative, and student management systems.
• The ideal candidate will play a key role in building secure, high-performance digital platforms that enhance the university’s technological ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
• Integrate third-party services, payment gateways, and internal systems
• Collaborate with front-end developers, UI/UX designers, and database administrators
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Implement security and data protection measures
• Manage database systems (MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL)
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment processes
• Maintain documentation for technical specifications and system architecture
• Provide technical support and system upgrades as required.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
• Minimum of 2 - 4 years experience as a Node.js Developer
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and the Node.js runtime environment
• Experience with Express.js or similar frameworks
• Knowledge of database technologies (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with Git version control systems
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Competencies:

• Experience developing educational or ERP systems
• Knowledge of microservices architecture
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker.
