    Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant

    Job Overview

    • This role is for a proposal the organization is currently working on.
    • The M&E consultant will conduct an end-line evaluation for a project, which is in its final year of implementation.
    • The main objective of the evaluation is to assess the project's success in achieving its objectives and to identify the reasons for change among project participants and stakeholders.
    • The evaluation will also focus on providing recommendations for accountability to the stakeholders and donors, informing future intervention models and delivery approaches.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop an appropriate evaluation design to address the specific evaluation questions and sub-questions related to the effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of the Project.
    • Collect and analyze both primary and secondary quantitative data to assess the project's impact and quality.
    • Conduct qualitative data collection and analysis, utilizing methodologies like Outcome Harvesting and most significant change to complement and validate quantitative findings.
    • Ensure the evaluation design considers the inclusion of all targeted vulnerable groups and generates disaggregated data.
    • Develop data collection tools, refine KAP survey tools, and translate them as required.
    • Train and supervise data collectors (enumerators) and ensure the quality of data collected.
    • Provide a robust evaluation matrix and a quality assurance plan for the evaluation process.
    • Adhere to ethical considerations and safeguarding policies, ensuring the protection and confidentiality of all research participants.
    • Produce comprehensive evaluation reports with clear findings, lessons learned, and recommendations for stakeholders and partners.

    Qualifications and Reqirements

    • Advanced Degree in a relevant discipline (Statistics, Evaluation Science, Social Sciences, Public Health, or another related Degree)
    • Over five years of work experience related to nutrition and Maternal, Infant, Young Child Feeding (MIYCF) programs (experience in Niger State is desirable)
    • Strong analytical and research skills, with skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, drawing findings from multiple sources, and handling potential contradictions between data sets, including ensuring a greater understanding of quantitative data results through the triangulation of qualitative data.
    • Expert skills in qualitative data collection and analysis using methodologies like Outcome Harvesting and Most Significant Change are highly desired.
    • Experience in undertaking External Evaluation in the field of nutrition, health, community distribution, behavior change or other related disciplines in LMICs.
    • Proven leadership and coordination skills with the ability to quality assure an enumerator team.
    • Fluency in English, Hausa, Nupe, or other local languages required.
