Mine Surveyor at African Industries Group (AIG)

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, underground, and surface surveys of mining areas
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and maps using CAD and GIS software
• Monitor excavation progress and ensure alignment with design specifications
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations teams to support planning and development
• Maintain accurate records of survey data and produce technical reports
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian mining laws and safety regulations
• Assist in volume calculations for ore and waste material
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, and laser scanners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 1 year experience in mine surveying, preferably in iron ore or other mineral extraction
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Surpac, or similar mining software
• Strong understanding of mining operations and safety protocols
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in remote and physically demanding environments
• Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Membership with a recognized surveying or mining professional body (e.g., NIS, NMGS)
• Experience with drone-based survey techniques and 3D modeling.
