    Mid - Level Electrical Engineer

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a motivated Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team in Lekki, Lagos. The successful candidate will support the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems for renewable energy projects (including solar, hybrid, and embedded generation), power distribution networks, and related infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to grow technical expertise while contributing to impactful energy projects under the guidance of senior engineers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the design and specification of electrical systems for renewable energy plants, mini-grids, distribution networks, and associated infrastructure.
    • Prepare electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and technical documentation in accordance with Nigerian and international standards (IEC, IEEE, NESREA, NERC, etc.).
    • Support installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical works, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in the technical evaluation of equipment (transformers, switchgear, inverters, generators, protection relays, cabling, etc.).
    • Conduct or assist with system studies including load flow, short-circuit analysis, and basic protection coordination.
    • Troubleshoot electrical faults and support the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
    • Work closely with senior engineers, project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure timely project delivery.
    • Contribute to technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
    • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on all sites.
    • Continuously develop technical knowledge in renewable energy, power systems, and emerging technologies.

    Requirements

    • Education & Professional Qualifications
    • B.Eng./HND in Electrical Engineering.
    • COREN registration is an advantage; membership of NSE or equivalent professional body is desirable.

    Experience

    • 4–6 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
    • Experience in power systems, renewable energy (solar PV, hybrid systems), distribution networks, or related utility/infrastructure projects is preferred.
    • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT, PVSyst, or similar tools.
    • Working knowledge of Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) regulations and relevant standards is an advantage.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Solid technical foundation in electrical power systems and problem-solving ability.
    • Must understand the commerce/economics of the business environment.
    • Passionate and self-driven about the business.
    • Good project support and organizational skills.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team and take direction while showing initiative.
    • Attention to detail, commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn and grow.
