Metering Engineer at GCA Energy Limited

Job Functions

• Provide technical support to the metering services unit as well as engineering/technical operations department of the company.
• Operate small volume provers (SVP) and calibrate field instruments.
• Carry out flow calibration using small volume provers, calibration of various compact provers and pipe provers and various meter types.
• Calibration of flow meters critical for custody transfer and other applications 
• Calibration of a wide range of field instruments, while ensuring that all devices meet industry standards and function at peak performance. 
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all metering and control systems. 
• Calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs of SVPs and any other equipment, to minimize downtime and enhance the reliability of our systems. 
• Ensure that metering systems continue to meet regulatory requirements (as outlined by API, ISO, etc.) while reducing the risk of measurement errors or compliance issues.  
• Maintaining the metering system of the company for maximum reliability in deployment for clients’ services
• Ensure adequate inventory of the items required for metering maintenance and calibration to ensure continuous operation of the metering system.
• Maintain records of calibration, changes / modifications, test equipment certificates, flow calculation checks etc., for audit purpose.
• Contribute to the growth of the business while ensuring compliance to company‘s QMS, HSE and Corporate policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Key Requirements

• First degree of Higher National Diploma (HND) in engineering discipline or any other related field from reputable institution
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience
• Prior experience as metering engineer is key
• Experience in operating Small Volume Provers (SVP) and calibration of field instruments is very essential
• Master’s degree in engineering related discipline is an added advantage
• Experience in oil and gas servicing company is key
• Solid knowledge of oil and gas procedures, standards and regulations
• Problem-solving skills.
