Mechanization Manager at Pandagric Novum Limited

Job Objective

• To oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company's facilities and machineries in line with PNL’ overall farming(s) standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
• Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
• Check mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of all machines to ensure functionality.
• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities in all machines.
• Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.).
• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
• Fasten attachments, such as graders, ploughs, and rollers, to tractor with hatch pins in order to carry out assigned work tasks.
• Ensure tractors is kept clean, tidy and in good working condition when not in use.
• Participate in training, workshops and staff meetings related to farm operations during work hours.
• Provide weekly reports of work activities to the Manager.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Key Performance Indicators

• Minimum of 90% achievement of all assigned targets within allotted time.
• 95% minimum functionality of tractor.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Engr or B.Agric (Engr.) Certificate or Certificate in Technical Education.
• 1 - 8 years cognate experience.

• Good technical skills
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
• Have a workable knowledge of John Deere and Valtra Tractors as well as Equalizer Planters.
• Know how to operate and set Combines and Self-propelled Sprayers.
• Know how to set and operate Greenstar and Trimble AMS systems.
• Be able to calibrate all Sprayers, Spreaders, Planters and Combine headers.
