    Mechanical Supervisor

    Job Summary

    • The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee the facility's design, development, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
    • The role is critical to ensuring optimal performance of machinery and minimizing equipment downtime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repair.
    • The Mechanical Supervisor will also collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment malfunctions, implementing timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventive industrial equipment maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.
    • Manage the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of machinery and mechanical systems as needed.
    • Replace faulty or outdated equipment components and coordinate repairs, working proactively to extend equipment lifespan.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to ensure all machinery operates effectively and safely.
    • Coordinate and supervise work conducted by external contractors, vendors, and maintenance consultants, ensuring compliance with company standards and timelines.
    • Provide technical support and training to the manufacturing team on new or modified equipment.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of equipment maintenance records, repair logs, and safety compliance.
    • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, including OSHA and other relevant guidelines.
    • Perform root cause analysis for recurring mechanical issues and recommend solutions to improve long-term equipment reliability.
    • Stay updated on industry advancements and integrate new technologies into maintenance practices where applicable.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing mechanical process enhancements.
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment failure, ensuring a swift resolution to reduce the impact on production.
    • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities to enhance operational consistency and quality control.

    Knowledge Requirements

    • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and heating systems.
    • Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment, with hands-on experience in mechanical systems.
    • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and root cause analysis techniques.
    • Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, HSE, etc.).
    • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word.
