Mechanical Hydrotesting Technician / Lead III at Scruples Resources

Job Purpose

• To perform and supervise hydrotesting activities on piping, vessels, equipment and associated systems in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and piping systems for hydrotesting.
• Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests in accordance with approved procedures.
• Inspect test boundaries and verify test packs before testing.
• Install and check test pumps, hoses, manifolds, gauges, blinds and other test equipment.
• Verify test pressure and test duration against approved requirements.
• Monitor pressure during testing and identify leaks or abnormal conditions.
• Carry out draining, depressurisation and reinstatement after testing.
• Maintain hydrotest records and test documentation.
• Support flushing and cleaning activities where required.
• Ensure test equipment is properly calibrated and fit for use.
• Follow PTW, JSA/JHA and applicable HSE requirements.

Lead Responsibilities
The Lead additionally:

• Supervises hydrotesting crews.
• Coordinates daily hydrotesting activities.
• Reviews test packs and work requirements.
• Coordinates with QA/QC, construction and commissioning teams.
• Ensures work is completed safely and according to schedule.
• Reports test progress and outstanding issues.

Requirements

• Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Any candidates who apply without this experience will have their CVs rejected immediately.
• Relevant hydrotesting experience.
• Knowledge of piping systems and pressure testing.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics and test packs.
• Knowledge of pressure testing safety requirements.
• Relevant oil & gas/site experience.
