    Mechanical Foreman

    About the Company

    Our Client, a top-tier operator in the oil and gas sector, managing a large-scale ammonia production facility. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Foreman to lead our mechanical maintenance team and ensure the reliability and integrity of critical rotating and static equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate all mechanical maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
    • Lead a team of mechanical technicians in the inspection, repair, and overhaul of rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines) and static equipment (vessels, heat exchangers, piping).
    • Ensure all maintenance work is executed in accordance with safety standards, quality procedures, and OEM specifications.
    • Manage work permits, risk assessments, and isolation procedures (LOTO) for mechanical jobs.
    • Overhaul and troubleshoot critical ammonia plant equipment including synthesis gas compressors, ammonia refrigeration compressors, and reformer units.
    • Plan and schedule daily maintenance tasks, allocating resources efficiently to minimise downtime.
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and spare parts inventory.
    • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and procurement teams to optimise plant reliability.
    • Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and on-the-job training for mechanical staff.
    • Ensure compliance with ASME, API, and company-specific mechanical integrity standards.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Diploma or Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
    • Minimum of 8–10 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in an ammonia plant, petrochemical facility, or oil and gas environment.
    • Proven experience maintaining and overhauling centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, and high-pressure piping systems.
    • Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting, alignment, welding inspection, and vibration analysis.
    • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) such as SAP PM or Maximo.
    • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate, mentor, and manage a diverse mechanical team.
    • Valid safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA 30-Hour, Confined Space Entry) are preferred.
    • Technical certifications in welding, rigging, or rotating equipment maintenance are a plus.
