Mechanical Engineering Manager at Aren Paper Mills Limited

Responsibilities

• Provide electro-mechanical engineering services to develop and improve the paperboard mill production in the factory.
• Optimise utilisation of processing and quality resources in the factory to derive maximum capacity utilisation and efficiencies and eliminate controllable losses and minimise the impact of non-controllable losses
• Verify existing equipment layouts and dimensions of the paper mill
• Provide Engineering analysis during the selection and optimisation of equipment.
• Assist with detailed design drawings for equipment installation
• Maintenance and Operational Assistance.
• Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot equipment and/or operating problems.
• Coordinate contractor’s activities for contracted-out maintenance work during equipment downtime.
• Manage external contractors effectively - seek to utilise them to expedite projects in the factory in a cost-effective manner.
• Include energy and cost-effectiveness in the design of all equipment additions and modifications.
• Provide technical support as needed to facilitate the safety and success of other mill teams.
• Provide maintenance support as needed in the factory.
• Execute capital projects and other significant facility changes while ensuring the safekeeping of all company agreements, financial instruments, etc.
• Ensure the Health and Safety of all subordinates within Company guidelines and current legislation.
• Ensure all functional management are aware of the correct codes of practice, statutory and advisory, that govern accepted standards of safe operation at all premises.
• Ensure the production plant causes a minimum of dust and noise both internally and externally.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, QEHS, HACCP-related certification Job-related courses and training
• 5 + years experience in handling maintenance, utilities and projects in several jobs as a Mechanical Engineer and project-related management.
• Preferably in the Paperboard Mill installation industry.
• Strong analytical skills to define problems and develop mechanical solutions to improve processes/assess productivity/safety.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical proficiency, and troubleshooting skills
• Self-motivated individual with a take-charge attitude and an understanding of personnel management techniques.
• Strong computer skills, including, but not limited to, working knowledge of Auto-CAD, Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Excellent Planning and organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
