Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) at Siperco Nigeria Limited

Role Purpose

• Responsible for the engineering, specification, selection, review, and technical support of rotating equipment in line with project requirements, applicable codes, industry standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review specifications, datasheets, equipment requisitions, and engineering documents for rotating equipment.
• Provide technical support for pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, fans, and other rotating machinery.
• Review vendor drawings, technical bids, calculations, and equipment documentation.
• Ensure equipment selection and design comply with applicable API, ASME, ISO, and project standards.
• Participate in equipment sizing, technical evaluations, vendor clarification, and design reviews.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and start-up.
• Identify and resolve equipment-related technical issues and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, inspections, and other project engineering activities.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with company HSE, quality, and project requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Energy industry is highly preferred.
• Proven experience with rotating equipment engineering and selection.
• Good knowledge of API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant industry standards.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating machinery.
• Ability to review vendor documentation and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.

Preferred Experience:

• Candidates with experience in EPC, PMC, refinery, petrochemical, or major Oil & Gas projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
