    Mechanical Engineer

    Location: Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos

    Job Summary

    • The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, supervising, and ensuring the installation, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical systems in building construction projects.
    • The role involves coordinating with architects, civil engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure the proper integration of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems in line with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare mechanical design drawings, plans, and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, and gas systems.
    • Review and interpret construction blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
    • Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to determine mechanical system requirements.
    • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
    • Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems at construction sites.
    • Monitor project progress to ensure timely and quality delivery of mechanical works.
    • Inspect and verify that installations are executed as per approved drawings and standards.
    • Conduct mechanical inspections and testing (pressure tests, air balancing, etc.).
    • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety standards.
    • Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
    • Participate in project meetings and provide technical input on mechanical aspects.
    • Develop operation and maintenance manuals for mechanical systems.
    • Support post-construction maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree of HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in building construction or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) services.
    • Professional certification or COREN registration is an added advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other design software.
    • Excellent understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
    • Good communication and team coordination abilities.
