Mechanical Engineer at Calaya Engineering Services

Job Purpose:

• Develop and execute all relevant asset maintenance initiatives in line with relevant procedures.
• Supervise the execution of all OEM & Corrective maintenance actions towards ensuring:
• 90% Pump Availability across Central East Asset with less than 0.5% Pump related deferment
• N+1 Instrument Air Compressor Availability in Central East Asset.
• N+1 Fire water pump Availability in Central East Asset
• Collaboratively work with the Workshop and Electrical team to deliver >85% and N+1 Generator and ancillaries Availability.
• Prepare and execute Intrusive inspection/maintenance of Glycol contactors
• Prepare the network orders and follow-up with the POs for All Mechanical Overhauls/activities as captured in CAPEX workbooks
• Prepare all mechanical OPEX work order request from Asset team. Ensure PR release and PO creation to enable Vendor mobilization to site
• Ensured quality Inspection and supervision of all activities with Contractors by deploying competent QA/QC
• Ensure the SEs are raised for approval for all mechanical Jobs within 48hours of job completion
• Interface with other discipline and support function teams to manage Logistics, community, and security issues during activity execution
• Present Status of activities handling during MTCE YTT meeting on daily basics.
• Present status of activities handling during the weekly connect sessions with the field Maintenance Teams
• Provide input and update status into the IAP through the Maintenance Execution as necessary
• Identify and give at least 1 hi-5 recognition every quarter to deserving QA/QC Engineers who work collaboratively to deliver results
• Prepare and submit the Competence/Gap Assessment Profile for the Mechanical QA/QC within the team by End June 2021.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Ensure project activities are executed safely according to Schedule by MRTA and BMM contractors, consultants and to ensure timely completion.
• Perform quality control duties and responsibilities and ensure all job activities are delivered to Shell set standards.
• Identify and correct contractor non-compliance with HSE standards.
• Identify and resolve conflicts in Project activities and communicate them to Vendor supervisor.
• Maintain and send daily log (written) of activities from jobsites as reported from my QA/QC Engineers.
• Coordinated a Walk around units on project daily by QA/QC Engineer(s) at site to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
• High availability of Rotating /static Equipment’s via quick maintenance execution
• Maintain robust Rotating /static equipment’s maintenance response capabilities
• Compliance with all HSE policies and processes and HSE performance wrt Mechanical Rotating equipment availability.
• Best practice implementation in internal and external maintenance and operation of Crude oil export pumps to deliver acceptable integrity and availability of the hydrocarbon evacuation system.
• Maintenance of all Pumps, Engines and Air compressor ancillary systems
• Lead a team of technicians.

Qualifications

• B. Eng /HND in Mechanical Engineering with strong knowledge of Rotating and Static Equipment engineering.
• Must have minimum of 5 years work experience in integrated Oil & Gas upstream operations, project supervision, good understanding of Mechanical Rotating and static equipment engineering.
• Professional Certifications
• Membership of The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and COREN certified Mechanical Engineer will be an added advantage.
• Discipline appropriate certification(s) would be considered added advantage
• HSE Training Certificate (would be considered added advantage)
