Mechanic II at IITA - International Institute of Tropical Agriculture

DUTIES: 

• Perform repair and servicing of petrol engine Etesia machines used for field operations.
• Repair and service mowing machines to ensure optimal performance for field work.
• Conduct routine maintenance on all related mechanical and operational equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workshop and ensure proper care of tools and equipment.
• Conduct quality checks on spare parts prior to use for maintenance. 
• Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

• Trade Test III certificate with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any other related course with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must:

• Have technical knowledge of mechanical equipment like Etesia machine, Gang mower etc.
• Be proficient in Petrol Engine Repairs.
• Have ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Be open to continuous learning, including the ability to learn and unlearn.
