Role Summary
- The Marketing manager will drive DANG’s overall brand strategy, positioning, growth, and market presence across all customer touchpoints, channels, and markets. The role is responsible for ensuring the brand consistently reflects the company’s vision, commercial objectives, customer experience standards, and long-term growth ambitions.
- This role focuses on strategic brand leadership, cross-functional collaboration, brand governance, market expansion, partnerships, communications, and customer-facing brand experience across digital, retail, experiential, and corporate environments.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Positioning
- Develop and drive the company’s overarching brand strategy across all markets, channels, and customer touchpoints.
- Ensure the brand remains commercially relevant, culturally aligned, and positioned for long-term growth and market leadership.
- Drive consistency in messaging, tone, visual identity, storytelling, customer experience, and market representation.
- Oversee the strategic direction of campaigns, launches, activations, and brand initiatives to ensure alignment with business and revenue objectives.
Stakeholder, Cross-Functional & Agency Management
- Serve as a key brand liaison across internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Retail, Customer Experience, and Leadership teams to align brand strategy with business execution.
- Manage relationships with agencies, media partners, collaborators, vendors, influencers, and strategic partners to drive brand visibility and performance.
- Support leadership in communicating brand direction, growth priorities, and strategic initiatives internally and externally.
Marketing Growth & Market Expansion
- Support strategic growth initiatives across existing and emerging markets including Nigeria, the US, UK, and Canada.
- Lead brand-driven growth initiatives that contribute to customer acquisition, retention, engagement, and revenue generation.
- Provide strategic oversight on campaigns, launches, and market expansion activities to ensure alignment with brand and commercial goals.
- Monitor consumer insights, market trends, and competitive positioning to identify growth opportunities.
Performance Marketing & Channel Oversight
- Set the strategic direction, brand tone, and creative standards for paid media and growth marketing activities across all platforms.
- Approve campaign concepts, messaging frameworks, audience strategy, and creative direction to ensure consistency with brand positioning and business goals.
- Partner with channel and campaign teams to review performance against brand, growth, and revenue KPIs.
E-Commerce, Retail & Brand Experience
- Oversee the brand presentation and customer experience across all owned and partner sales channels including DANG website, marketplaces, retail stores, stockists, and third-party platforms.
- Drive consistency in merchandising, visual storytelling, brand assets, and customer-facing communication across all touchpoints.
- Partner with Retail, E-Commerce, and Sales teams to strengthen in-store storytelling, trade marketing, launches, and customer experience standards.
Brand Communications, PR & Narrative Management
- Oversee all outward-facing brand communication to ensure consistency in tone, messaging, storytelling, and positioning.
- Lead PR, earned-media, and reputation management initiatives including media relationships, press opportunities, and corporate brand storytelling.
- Maintain quality control and brand governance across all public-facing materials and communications.
Partnerships, Events & Collaborations
- Lead the strategic direction for partnerships, sponsorships, collaborations, events, and brand activations.
- Identify opportunities that strengthen visibility, customer engagement, brand equity, and commercial growth.
- Oversee the company’s participation in events, industry opportunities, awards, and strategic collaborations.
Internal Brand Alignment & CSR
- Drive internal brand communication initiatives that strengthen employee alignment with the company’s culture, values, and customer promise.
- Support CSR and corporate positioning initiatives aligned with the company’s long-term brand direction and reputation goals.
Retail & Trade Marketing
- Lead the retail and trade marketing strategy supporting DANG’s expanding store and stockist footprint.
- Drive new store openings, in-store activations, trade campaigns, and seasonal retail moments.
- Ensure consistency of brand experience across digital, retail, marketplace, and stockist environments.
- Partner with Retail and Sales teams on in-store storytelling, visual merchandising, and point-of-sale brand execution.
Product Launches & Go-to-Market
- Lead the brand and go-to-market strategy for new product launches across categories and markets.
- Define launch positioning, messaging, channel strategy, and campaign direction in collaboration with Product, E-Commerce, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Drive launch campaigns and brand moments that support customer engagement, visibility, and revenue growth.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Develop and present brand performance reports, strategic recommendations, and growth updates to executive leadership.
- Track and monitor brand, campaign, and growth KPIs to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
