    Job Role

    The purpose of this job is to be responsible for the bank’s day-to-day management and wide business strategy, review of the Bank's balance sheet on a continuing basis in order to ensure continuous growth and profitability.
    Job Description

    • Assess the market size and do market segmentation in order to identify and project sizable market opportunities for the business.
    • Permanently practice “Customer understanding” analysis and market intelligence activities so as to identify unmet needs of target customers, to be translated into successful financial products and services.
    • Define the overall Value Offer of FCT-MFB to its target market, translating it into a marketing mix that maximizes the bank’s competitive advantages against the ever increasing competition.
    • Oversee the full range of managerial duties for the bank's balance sheet, compliance, collections and credit analysis functions including adherence to policies and practices of the Bank and all applicable regulatory and governmental agencies.
    • Plans attractive strategies to retain skilled, hard-working and fruitful employees making sure they are satisfied with the company.
    • Propose marketing strategies for growing the business by means of optimizing and strengthening the existing commercial and distribution models, as well as exploring new means to reach out to the market.
    • Develop the overall marketing strategies & tactics in order to meet business annual objectives in number of customers and sales by product and by channel.
    • Develop customer Acquisition strategies to either create primary markets or gain market share of the Microfinance industry.
    • Develop strategies to promote greater retention of    FCT-MFB customer base, such as product cross selling strategies, loan renewal strategies and overall product mix optimization to promote more permanent relationship building products.
    • Propose business objectives and develop the corresponding marketing strategies to increase customers “share of pocket”, such as increasing the average account balance on deposit accounts, or increasing the average loan amount without impacting portfolio quality. Develop the Annual Marketing plan as an integrated part of the business plan, to lay-out all abovementioned strategies as well as to propose all marketing initiatives to be implemented throughout the year to support business goals.
    • Set annual performance goals of staff, guide coach and monitor performance of same, and execute annual performance evaluations and reviews of the department’s staff.
    • Implementation of the Board’s strategic directives and decisions.
    • Coordinate the management function.

    Languages:  

    • English required.
    • Willingness to live in Nigeria for the duration of the contract.
    • Commitment to the social mission of microfinance.

    Requirements

    • At least 4 years in management positions  
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, economics or related area of study.
    • Experience in commercial strategic planning and budgeting
    • Master concepts, processes and tools of marketing planning and Marketing implementation.
    • Experience in communications, advertising and if possible PR.
    • Knowledge of low-income market
    • Knowledge of micro, small and medium enterprise market
    • Evidence that the candidate possesses proven skills and competences in practical microfinance banking .
    • Have a sound ICT knowledge to use  Microsoft packages including excel, word and power point.
    • Must have obtained certificate in Microfinance Banking issued by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).
