Job Description

• Our client, a player in the telecommunication industry, is looking to hire the services of a Management Accountant who will be responsible for providing financial information and analysis to support the decision-making process within the organisation.
• You will work closely with managers and executives to provide financial insights, develop strategies, and improve overall organisational performance.

Here are some key responsibilities and functions 

• Financial Planning and Analysis: Management accountants assist in developing budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic plans. They analyze historical financial data, market trends, and operational factors to support the planning process.
• Costing and Cost Management: Management accountants determine and allocate costs associated with the production of goods or services. They identify cost-saving opportunities, analyse cost variances, and recommend cost optimisation strategies.
• Performance Measurement: Management accountants establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of business operations. They prepare reports and dashboards that provide insights into financial and operational performance, helping managers make informed decisions.
• Decision Support: Management accountants provide financial analysis and modeling for various business decisions, such as investment projects, pricing strategies, and product profitability assessments. They evaluate the financial viability of different alternatives and assist in making sound decisions.
• Budgeting and Control: Management accountants play a crucial role in the budgeting process by developing budgets, monitoring actual performance against budgeted targets, and implementing control systems to ensure adherence to financial plans.
• Financial Reporting: Management accountants prepare internal financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. They ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support management decision-making and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Risk Management: Management accountants identify and assess financial risks faced by the organisation and provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies. They contribute to the development of internal controls and risk management frameworks.
• Strategic Planning: Management accountants participate in strategic planning activities by analysing financial implications, conducting feasibility studies, and evaluating investment opportunities. They provide financial insights to support long-term business goals.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Management accountants work closely with other departments, such as operations, marketing, and sales, to gather relevant financial data, understand business dynamics, and provide financial support for decision-making across the organisation.

Requirements

The requirements listed below are representative of the Knowledge, Skill and/or ability required to perform this job satisfactorily:

• A BSc or HND in accounting. Chartered accountant will be an added advantage
• Minimum of 3 years experience working in the same role  or similar role
• Must be very Analytical and purpose Driven 
• Should be able to work with limited supervision
• Keen attention to details
• Proven track record of success in similar role
