The Maintenance Officer atPullus Africa will be responsible for the hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous functionality of the company’s facility infrastructure, equipment and power systems.
This role requires a technically skilled and proactive individual with strong practical knowledge of electrical systems and general facility maintenance.
The ideal candidate must be able to identify faults early, carry out routine and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot operational issues independently and determine when escalation to external professionals is necessary. The role is critical to ensuring uninterrupted facility operations, equipment reliability and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine inspection, servicing and maintenance of facility equipment, electrical systems, solar systems, generators, cold rooms and other operational infrastructure.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and technical faults and take corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Detect potential maintenance issues early and proactively recommend repairs or replacements before breakdowns occur.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generators, inverters, solar systems, wiring, plumbing systems and facility equipment.
Monitor the performance and efficiency of power systems and facility equipment to ensure smooth daily operations.
Respond promptly to equipment failures, power issues and maintenance emergencies.
Coordinate and supervise external technicians or contractors during specialized maintenance or repair works.
Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, servicing schedules and equipment history.
Ensure proper handling and maintenance of tools, equipment and maintenance materials.
Conduct regular safety checks to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and operational improvement initiatives.
Monitor the general condition of company facilities and report operational risks or infrastructure concerns.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with company policies and safety procedures.
Perform any other duties assigned to support operational efficiency and facility management.
Required Qualifications
Diploma, OND, HND or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 4 years’ hands-on experience in facility maintenance, technical maintenance, electrical systems or industrial operations.
Ability to independently troubleshoot and diagnose technical faults before escalation to external specialists.
Hands on experience carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Good understanding of power systems, electrical safety practices and equipment maintenance procedures.
Ability to use maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to respond quickly to technical issues and emergencies.
Good record keeping and organizational skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintenance tracking/reporting systems.
Strong attention to detail, reliability and commitment to workplace safety.
