Maintenance Manager at NutriK FZE

Overall Mission
General objective:

• The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling all maintenance activities across the factory to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of machinery, utilities, buildings, and technical systems.
• The role ensures minimum downtime, effective preventive and corrective maintenance, proper spare parts control, compliance with safety standards, and continuous improvement of equipment performance.

Responsibilities and Tasks
Maintenance Management and Operations:

• Develop and Create the Department Management system, policy and SOPs
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for all factory equipment, utilities, and facilities.
• Plan and schedule maintenance activities in coordination with Production to minimize downtime and production interruptions.
• Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns, diagnose root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, maintenance history, and equipment files in an organized and traceable manner.
• Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement projects for machinery, utilities, and factory infrastructure.

Equipment Reliability and Process Support:

• Monitor equipment performance, repeated failures, downtime trends, and maintenance costs to improve reliability and availability.
• Conduct root cause analysis for major breakdowns and recurring technical issues, and follow up corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure critical equipment is identified, inspected, and maintained according to risk level and production impact.
• Work with Production and Quality teams to maintain stable machine performance and support product quality requirements.
• Recommend technical upgrades, modifications, or replacement of equipment where required to improve efficiency and safety.

Utilities and Facility Maintenance:

• Ensure reliable operation of factory utilities including power supply, generators, compressors, water systems, HVAC, pumps, panels, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain building facilities, workshops, lighting, drainage, plumbing, doors, floors, and other site maintenance requirements.
• Plan routine inspection and servicing of utilities and facility assets to avoid operational disruption.
• Monitor utility consumption and support initiatives to reduce energy, water, and maintenance costs.
• Ensure technical services are available to support continuous and safe factory operations.

Spare Parts, Tools and Contractor Management:

• Define minimum and maximum stock levels for critical spare parts, consumables, tools, and maintenance materials.
• Coordinate with Warehouse and Procurement to ensure timely availability of required spare parts and services.
• Review technical specifications, quotations, and service proposals for maintenance purchases and contractor jobs.
• Supervise external contractors and service providers to ensure work quality, safety compliance, and timely completion.
• Control maintenance tools, workshop equipment, and calibration or inspection requirements where applicable.

Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance:

• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with company HSE requirements, permits to work, lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work, and electrical safety procedures.
• Promote safe working practices among maintenance staff, contractors, and operators during technical interventions.
• Ensure guarding, emergency stops, electrical panels, pressure systems, lifting tools, and safety devices are maintained in good condition.
• Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, safety audits, and corrective action follow-up related to maintenance activities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in maintenance workshops, technical rooms, and work areas.

Personnel Management:

• Lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate maintenance technicians, electricians, mechanics, utility operators, and support staff.
• Assign daily tasks, monitor attendance, control overtime, and ensure discipline and productivity within the maintenance team.
• Identify training needs and develop technical skills in mechanical, electrical, automation, welding, utility, and troubleshooting areas.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, safety awareness, and continuous improvement within the department.
• Ensure proper handover between shifts and effective communication of machine status, pending jobs, and priorities.

Budget, Reporting and Continuous Improvement:

• Prepare and monitor maintenance budget, repair costs, spare parts consumption, contractor expenses, and technical project costs.
• Prepare regular maintenance reports covering downtime, breakdowns, preventive maintenance completion, spare parts usage, safety issues, and improvement actions.
• Analyze maintenance KPIs and recommend actions to improve machine availability, reliability, cost control, and team productivity.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as equipment modification, energy saving, standardization, and reduction of repeated failures.
• Support audits, inspections, management reviews, and compliance requirements related to maintenance and engineering activities.

Requirements

• Education Degree – Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Work experience – Minimum 7 years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in extrusion operation. 2 - 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing extruder process
• Language skills – English.
• Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook

• Extruder process and equipment
• Mechanical, electrical, automation, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, fabrication, and utility systems knowledge.
• Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance principles, including root cause analysis and reliability improvement
• Factory HSE requirements include lockout/tagout, permit to work, electrical safety, hot work, confined space, and machine guarding.
• Spare parts management, maintenance budgeting, contractor control, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of production equipment, process flow, quality impact of machine condition, and continuous improvement methods.
