Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled and dependable Machine Operator, Extrusion to join our PVC pipe production team.
• In this role, you will be responsible for operating extrusion machinery to produce high-quality PVC pipes according to production specifications.
• The ideal candidate will have technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion machines in accordance with daily production plans and technical specifications.
• Set up and monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed to ensure optimal performance and product consistency.
• Perform routine quality checks on pipes, including dimensions, surface finish, and cooling, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Coordinate with Mixing and Hopper Feeding teams to ensure uninterrupted raw material feed.
• Monitor machine operations continuously to detect and correct any malfunctions or inconsistencies.
• Conduct routine cleaning of dies and tooling to prevent buildup or defects.
• Ensure proper alignment and smooth flow of pipes from extrusion to outfeed section.
• Record production data such as quantities, run times, downtime, and reject rates.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians in reporting and resolving machine issues.
• Follow all safety guidelines and participate in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Assist in training operator trainees and support other team members as required.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and escalate any deviations promptly.

Competencies

• Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or extrusion setting (PVC pipe experience preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of extrusion process fundamentals.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, gauges, and measurement tools.
• Good problem-solving skills and responsiveness to machine or quality issues.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
• Secondary school education or technical training preferred.

• Reports to: Shift Supervisor.
• Key Collaborations: Mixing Supervisor, Maintenance Technicians, Production Engineer.
