Machine Operator (Cutting & Edging Machine) at Emmix Global Limited

Job Summary

• We are looking for a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our production team and operate panel cutting and edge-banding machines.
• The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating cutting and edging machines used in the processing of MDF, plywood, particle board, melamine, and other furniture panels.
• The successful candidate will ensure that materials are cut accurately according to production specifications and that edges are properly finished, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and machine care.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate panel cutting machines and edge-banding machines safely and efficiently.
• Read and understand cutting lists, measurements, drawings, and production specifications.
• Accurately measure and cut boards and panels according to required dimensions.
• Operate edge-banding equipment to achieve clean and consistent finishes.
• Set up machines and adjust settings according to material type and required dimensions.
• Inspect cut panels and edged components for accuracy and quality.
• Identify and report defects, machine faults, or production issues.
• Minimize material waste by following approved cutting plans and production procedures.
• Maintain accurate production records and report completed quantities.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of machines.
• Ensure cutting blades, edging components, and other machine parts are properly maintained.
• Follow all workshop safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep the machine and surrounding work area clean and organized.
• Work closely with the Production Manager, designers, and other workshop staff to meet production targets.
• Ensure all finished components are properly labelled and transferred to the appropriate production stage.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating panel cutting and/or edge-banding machines.
• Previous experience in a furniture, cabinetry, joinery, woodworking, or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to accurately read measurements and production specifications.
• Good understanding of MDF, plywood, particle board, melamine, and related panel materials.
• Ability to operate and adjust cutting and edge-banding machines.
• Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently and meet production targets.
• Strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work as part of a production team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a workshop environment.
