    Lubricant Accountant

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Lubricant Accountant to manage inventory accounting and control across our locations.
    • The ideal candidate will ensure accurate stock reporting, cost tracking, and alignment between physical inventory and ERP records to support operational efficiency and sound financial decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate records of bulk and packed lubricant inventory across all locations.
    • Record and reconcile all stock movements including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
    • Perform daily reconciliation between physical stock and ERP balances, resolving variances promptly.
    • Manage inventory by SKU, grade, batch, and pack size, including monitoring slow-moving or obsolete stock.
    • Verify all goods receipt and dispatch documentation for accuracy.
    • Post all inventory transactions in the ERP system and maintain data integrity.
    • Ensure inventory valuation aligns with FIFO principles and track associated costs.
    • Monitor product margins and support pricing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
    • Coordinate periodic stock counts and prepare variance reports.
    • Monitor and control stock losses, ensuring compliance with approved thresholds.
    • Prepare regular inventory and performance reports.
    • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Production teams.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit processes.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • BSc in Accounting, Finance, or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or FMCG
    • Strong experience in inventory accounting and reconciliation
    • Knowledge of product costing and margin analysis
    • Experience working with ERP systems
    • A professional qualification (ACA/ACCA) is an added advantage
    • Cost accounting experience is an added advantage.
