    Livelihood Officer

    Background

    • The project seeks to improve the resilience, self-reliance, and economic well-being of vulnerable households through sustainable livelihood interventions.
    • The Livelihood Officer will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of livelihoods activities aimed at enhancing income generation, vocational skills, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and economic recovery among project beneficiaries.

    Purpose of the Position

    • To coordinate and implement livelihood interventions that promote economic empowerment, sustainable income generation, and resilience-building for vulnerable individuals, households, and communities across Katsina State.

    Key Responsibilities
    Livelihoods Programming:

    • Support the design and implementation of livelihood and economic empowerment activities.
    • Conduct livelihood assessments, market surveys, and beneficiary needs assessments.
    • Facilitate vocational skills development, entrepreneurship, and income-generating activities.
    • Support beneficiary selection and verification processes in accordance with project criteria.

    Beneficiary Support and Capacity Building:

    • Organize and facilitate livelihood skills training and business development sessions.
    • Support formation and strengthening of savings groups, cooperatives, and producer groups.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to beneficiaries on livelihood opportunities.
    • Promote financial literacy and business management practices.

    Market Linkages and Economic Inclusion:

    • Facilitate linkages between beneficiaries, markets, financial institutions, and service providers.
    • Support value chain development and local economic recovery initiatives.
    • Promote access to business opportunities, inputs, and productive assets.

    Community Engagement and Coordination:

    • Engage community leaders and stakeholders in livelihood activities.
    • Promote inclusive participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
    • Coordinate with relevant government departments and development partners.

    Monitoring and Reporting;

    • Monitor livelihood activities and beneficiary progress.
    • Collect and report livelihood-related data and success stories.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and activity reports.
    • Document lessons learned and best practices.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Economics, Business Administration, Community Development, Development Studies, Agricultural Extension, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in livelihoods, economic empowerment, agriculture, vocational skills development, or community development programming.
    • Experience working with vulnerable populations and community-based projects.
    • Strong facilitation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
