Litigation Lawyer at SHQ Legal

Job Summary:

• A commercial law firm based in Lekki, Lagos, is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Lawyer with substantial experience in handling legal matters in the High Court (HC), Federal High Court (FHC), and Court of Appeal (COA).
• The ideal candidate will possess exceptional research and writing skills, with a preference for those who have published work.
• This role requires a minimum of 4-6 years of experience, and the candidate must be based in Lagos.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including trials and hearings in the High Court, Federal High Court, and Court of Appeal.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft legal documents, briefs, and opinions.
• Develop litigation strategies and manage all phases of litigation, including investigations, pleadings, discovery, and pre-trial.
• Collaborate with external lawyers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws and regulations relevant to the practice areas of the firm.
• Provide sound legal advice and effectively communicate legal strategies to clients.
• Prepare and present cases clearly and logically in court.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients’ best interests.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Significant experience in litigation, specifically with cases in the High Court, Federal High Court, and Court of Appeal.
• Exceptional research and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality legal documents and briefs.
• Published work in legal journals or other reputable platforms is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
