• As a Legal Officer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and advice to the organization.
• This role involves drafting and reviewing legal documents, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing legal risks, and representing the organization in legal proceedings.

Responsibilities:

• Draft a wide variety of legal agreements contingent on business matters.
• Provide internal advisory support services on corporate legal matters to business units and departments within the company.
• Provide commercial legal support for all departmental projects and job functions.
• Support the development of agreements for service delivery to all business units.
• Liaise with external counsel in the management and resolution of disputes.
• Ensure compliance with laid down guidelines, policies, and procedures with internal and external parties in line with the company’s policy, with an emphasis on deadlines where stipulated.
• Investigate issues of non-compliance and report promptly to the Legal manager.
• Undertake debt recovery activities through various means, which include but are not limited to issuing legal notice, instituting claims, etc., to ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
• Provide all such other administrative duties as directed by the legal manager.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Laws degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 3-5 years of post-call experience in a legal role, preferably with a focus on corporate or commercial law. Experience in the e-commerce or technology sector is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce or technology industry, dealing with issues such as online contracts, intellectual property, data protection, and regulatory compliance, is an advantage.
• Experience in handling corporate legal matters, including contract negotiation, company law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
