• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Commercial Lawyer with a strong background in litigation to monitor and oversee all litigation and recovery matters within the organization. The successful candidate will ensure effective legal strategies are applied to recover company assets, resolve disputes, and mitigate legal risks. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can manage cases independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Litigation Management:

• Oversee and manage all litigation matters, including preparing for hearings, trials, mediations, and arbitration.
• Monitor and coordinate the progress of litigation and recovery matters with external counsel, ensuring timelines are met and objectives achieved.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court submissions.
• Represent the company in court proceedings where necessary.

Recovery of Assets:

• Develop and implement strategies to recover outstanding debts and other company assets through legal proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and payment plans to optimize recoveries.
• Work closely with the finance and operations departments to track recovery efforts and optimize enforcement actions.

Risk Management and Compliance:

• Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with litigation, recovery, and commercial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.
• Advise the organization on evolving legal trends and their potential impact on the business.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with senior management and other departments to align legal strategies with business objectives.

Legal Research:

• Conduct thorough legal research and stay up to date on changes in laws that may affect the company's operations or litigation strategy.
• Prepare legal opinions and advisory notes for management and relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) and a call to bar certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate commercial law, with proven litigation experience.
• Experience in debt recovery and asset management through litigation.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, business law, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial litigation experience.
• Experience in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
