Provide legal advice and support to management and employees on various legal matters.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the company's operations.
Manage litigation and legal disputes, including working with external counsel when necessary.
Conduct legal research and analysis to stay informed about changes in the legal landscape.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance.
Collaborate with other departments to address legal issues and support business objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school is typically required. Some positions may also require additional specialized education or advanced degrees in a specific area of law.
Legal licensure: Legal Counsel must be licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where they will be providing legal advice. This usually involves passing a state bar exam or an equivalent licensing examination.
Experience: Relevant work experience in the legal field is essential. This may include experience working in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, or other legal settings.
