The Legal Counsel is responsible for ensuring that all of organization’s investment program and operations are in line with regulatory requirements and policies. The position holder will also provide advice on legal matters to the management team to support operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and support to the organization on a range of legal matters, including contract negotiations, litigation, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
Draft and review legal documents, such as contracts, policies, and agreements.
Conduct legal research and analysis to identify legal issues and risks and provide guidance to the organization on potential legal implications of business decisions.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
Manage outside counsel relationships and oversee their work as needed.
Provide legal training and awareness programs to employees on legal matters.
Advise on legal implications of new products or services.
Participate in due diligence and other legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
Manage legal disputes and investigations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB), Barrister at Law (Nigerian Law School).
Proven 7-10 years of experience as a Legal Counsel with an established law firm or General Legal or relevant position.
Exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks.
