Roles and Responsibilities

• Participate and oversee all application and web development activities of the company
• Write testable, scalable and efficient codes and lead code reviews for various applications
• Be an integral part of the lifecycle of software or web development
• Provide guidance to the team to ensure the right and cost-effective application is developed
• Identify user and system requirements for new applications
• Prioritize software development projects, set timelines and assign tasks to team members
• Liaise with designers to decide on UI/UX elements (like graphics and navigation buttons)
• Ensure that software application documentation is up-to-date
• Advise the business on evolving technologies based on market trends and customer’s request
• Direct the team to develop applications that will support sales in achieving company’s financial targets
• Provide leadership and develop the team in line with market needs for technology delivery and global technology trends
• Ensure effective use of the company’s resources on technology investments to grow the business
• Mentor team members and measure performances through established standard procedures
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
• Support the leadership team to decide high priority projects to meet business targets and execution within available resources
• Provide and support a strategic vision that integrates a broad range of ideas for applications and software developments
• Ensure adherence to set quality standards for applications development
• Ensure that high quality products are developed within a good timeframe
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the Head, Technology & Service Delivery

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or its equivalent
• A minimum of six (6) years relevant experience as a Developer with at least two (2) years experience in a lead role
• Proven knowledge of Java, Python and other programming languages
• Experience in leading, managing & mentoring a team of developers
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Good understanding of code documentation
