We seek a patient and knowledgeable online coding instructor to join our team. As a part of our team, you'll be a key player in mentoring budding coders, guiding them through the exciting world of programming, and igniting their passion for technology.
Our learners will be within the K12 learning category (Primary to Secondary). Your main role will be to provide virtual tutoring, ascertain that learning materials are informative, engaging, and aligned with industry trends, and ensure each student grasps concepts and can practically apply their knowledge.
Responsibilities
Deliver online coding lessons to students, ensuring interactive and comprehensive sessions.
Personalize teaching methods based on individual student needs, ensuring effective learning.
Keep abreast of the latest programming trends and continuously upgrade course materials.
Foster a virtual learning environment that is engaging, inclusive, and encourages feedback and queries.
Provide constructive feedback to students, guiding them through interactive and hands-on challenges.
Collaborate with other instructors, sharing insights and best practices.
Track student progress and provide timely reports to learning coordinators.
Offer mentorship, guiding students through their coding journey, and helping them navigate career options in tech.
Qualifications:
A concrete qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in coding using various languages suitable for a wide range of learner age groups, such as Scratch, Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar.
Prior experience and/or keen interest in teaching or mentoring, preferably online.
Familiarity and proficiency with online teaching platforms and tools.
Strong communication skills that can break down complex topics into digestible segments.
Patience and a genuine interest in nurturing young learners’' growth in coding.
Creativity and the ability to think outside the box to create innovative and interactive learning experiences.
Ability to adapt teaching methodologies to cater to various learning styles and age groups.
Experience in designing robust assessments or quizzes to evaluate learning outcomes.
Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
Passionate about technology and its potential to change the world.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously meet deadlines and manage multiple sessions.
