    Junior Associate - CASCADE

    About GAIN

    The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.

    About the Role

    The (Catalyzing Strengthened Policy Action for Healthy Diets and Resilience) CASCADE programme goal is to improve food security and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition of at least 5 million women of reproductive age and children under 5 in Nigeria

    The programme has two strategic objectives: it aims to increase access to and consumption of healthy diets, as well as increasing the resilience of households to economic and climate change-related shocks with a focus on women of reproductive age and children. The programme will galvanise government, business, and communities around 5 domains: Policy changes and accountability; Re-engineering markets and mobilising private sector; Transforming cultural norms and practices; Taking a gender transformative approach; Systematising data and learning for policy.

    Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support the implementation of project activities and work closely with the GAIN Nigeria country team.

    Key Responsibilities include;

    • Providing general administrative support including travel arrangements and expenditures reimbursements
    • Preparing, reviewing and modifying documents including reports, budgets and memos
    • Assisting with the maintenance of project information in the Project Management Information System (PMIS)
    • Assisting in the documentation of CASCADE projects through preparation of documents and report writing
    • Organising and coordinating meetings and workshops, which include identifying and securing venues, preparation of budgets, raising POs and ensuring smooth running of workshops

    About You

    The ideal candidate should have proven experience with administration and procurement functions. You should have the ability to operate within corporate and public sectors effectively and to liaise with development agencies and governments in multiple cultures.

    The postholder should have clear and systematic analytical thinking that demonstrates good judgment, expert problem solving, and creativity. You should have strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multi-cultural and multi-lingual environments.

    In addition to this, you should have the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work well under pressure with deadlines. You must be highly flexible and willing to travel in challenging environments.

    About our Offer

    The starting salary on offer for this role is from NGN 5,139,552 – NGN 5,860,896 per annum, depending on experience.

    GAIN has a fair and competitive salary structure that allows for annual progression subject to good performance. In addition, GAIN offers a total of 37 days holiday per year (including annual leave, public holidays and additional office closure days), an attractive pension scheme and competitive insurance cover including health, travel and life assurance.
