    Junior Accountant

    Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage daily financial operations, maintain accurate accounting records, and support financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, and a good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
    • Prepare and process payments, invoices, receipts, and journal entries.
    • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
    • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts.
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
    • Support external audits by preparing required financial documents.
    • Maintain the fixed asset register and monitor asset records.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
    • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (experience in the real estate, construction, or property management industry is an advantage).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, Zoho Books, or similar).
    • Good understanding of financial reporting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation processes.
    • Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory compliance is an advantage.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
