Junior Accountant at Cinemax Distribution

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Junior Accountant for a Cinema House. The Ideal Candidate will be responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of the company including preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

Location: Mainland, Lagos

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports: income statements, balance sheets, etc.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements
• Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure all financial documentation is prepared and accessible.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
• Ensure timely statutory remittance of pension, payee, consumption, and WHT.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree/ HND in Accounting.
• 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software like SAGE
• Deep understanding of GAAP, IFRS and financial/accounting best practices.
• ACA Certification is a plus
• In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
• Attention to detail

• Budget preparation and monitoring
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
