Junior Accountant at Carrillion Construction

Job Description: 

• We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This position is ideal for recent accounting graduates or NYSC members who are eager to kickstart their careers in accounting. The Junior Accountant will play a vital role in supporting our finance operations while gaining hands-on experience in the accounting field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports. 
• Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals. 
• Support the accounts payable and receivable processes. 
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies. 
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes. 
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts. 
• Help with tax preparation and compliance. 
• Collaborate with team members on various accounting projects. 
• Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 
• Completion of NYSC preferred. 
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP systems is a plus). 
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
